Dow Joins The Sustainability Consortium

MIDLAND, MI – November 7, 2011 –The Dow Chemical Company has announced its membership with The Sustainability Consortium, an independent organization of diverse global participants working to design and implement credible, transparent and scalable science-based measurement and reporting systems accessible for all producers and users of consumer products. By joining The Consortium, Dow will be working collaboratively with its customers and the value chain to develop approaches to providing more sustainable solutions for the whole supply chain and ultimately, the end consumer. Dow willleverage its science and technology, expertise in sustainable chemistry, and global network while working alongside The Consortium’s various private and public sector partners.

Dow will serve on The Sustainability Consortium Corporate Advisory Council, as well as participate in sector working groups addressing how to more accurately quantify and communicate the sustainability of products. Consortium activities support greater understanding and more informed decision-making among consumer, supply chain, scientific and global regulatory communities.
