Fundación Chile Joins The Sustainability Consortium

Fundación Chile -an organization that has been developing innovation for 33 years in the country- has joined the Sustainability Consortium, a new global organization with aims to improve the sustainability of consumer products. The Sustainability Consortium, co-directed by the University of Arkansas and Arizona State University, drives scientific research and the development of standards and IT tools, through a collaborative process, to enhance the ability to understand and address the environmental, social, and economic implications of products.

Fundación Chile aims to adapt TSC’s work to Chile while contributing to the global LCA database, through Chile’s main exports. Also to take TSC’s work to relevant organizations and companies to help increasing the momentum in Chile and maybe other Latin American countries.

“This initiative represents our effort to be aware of international trends affecting the competitiveness of our economy and at the same time, this is an incentive for companies to become more efficient and sustainable”, said Marcela Angulo, VP of Environment & Energy.

“The Sustainability Consortium is excited to have Fundación Chile join our team,” said Dr. Kevin Dooley, Co-Director of the Consortium. “As our first Latin American member, Fundación Chile will help us learn about Chilean and Latin American innovations and aid us in collaborating with other organizations and stakeholders.”
