Join Jessica Ginger\, TSC Director of Implementation\, and representatives from Cool Farm Tool and Field to Market as we break down these KPIs and review why they are included in your assessments\, how to best calculate your responses\, and what you can do to improve your scores. \n

SUMMARY:New tools: achieving consumer product sustainability at scale
DESCRIPTION:Consumers have made it clear that they prefer to buy from brands who care for people and planet. And in the eyes of consumers\, regulators\, and investors\, those standards now extend to the suppliers with which those companies do business. \nBut for businesses to meet those demands\, they must first navigate the complex landscape of assessments and solutions promising to make all their sustainability problems go away. How does a business know where to start? How do retailers\, brands\, and suppliers seamlessly exchange information to move the sustainability conversation forward? How can they get everything into one place so that the value of sustainability data can be tapped throughout the supply chain and within each business individually? \nThe Sustainability Consortium (TSC) and SupplyShift have entered into a new partnership to help address these questions. Join Supply Shift COO and Co-founder Jamie Barsimantov and TSC Director of Implementation Jessica Ginger to learn about: \n\nThe role industry standardization can play in advancing supply chain sustainability.\nHow retailers\, brands\, and suppliers can work together to achieve consumer product sustainability at scale.\n\nSpeaker\n\n\nJessica Ginger\nDirector of Implementation\nThe Sustainability Consortium \n

SUMMARY:Soil Health Institute’s 4th Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Frequently Asked Questions About Our Annual Meetings\nWhat topics are covered? \nIf you want to be up-to-date on where soil health research and policy are headed for 2020\, the 4th Annual Meeting is a must-attend event. Soil health’s leading experts break into five high-functioning Action Teams: Research; Measurements\, Standards\, and Assessment; Policy; Economics; and Communications and Education. You’ll be directly involved in advancing soil health. \nMost attendees have advanced degrees in soil science or a related discipline and discussion leans more technical than general. \nAre there production breakout sessions? \nThe Soil Health Institute’s annual meeting isn’t designed to replace Agricultural Extension meetings\, farm tours\, commodity or soil conservation meetings. In the past\, most producers who attended and said they valued the meeting content had graduate degrees in agriculture or a biological\, chemical or physical science\, or they have cooperated in on-farm research tests. \nHow do I get on the annual meeting email list? \nAll SHI information subscribers will receive updates regarding the annual meeting\, convenient opportunities to register for the conference\, and early-registration hotel room discounts. SUMMARY:National Battery Day on Capitol Hill
DESCRIPTION:National Battery Day provides an opportunity to engage with policymakers on the essentiality of lead batteries and the innovative research to improve their performance for automotive and energy storage applications. Global energy demand is expected to increase by 30% between 2018 and 2040. This is the equivalent of adding another China and India to our planet. Renewable energy sources are expected to provide 40% of that power generation. To address these needs and in recognition of National Battery Day\, a panel of leading science and business leaders will share updates on innovative lead battery research as well as public/private partnerships to meet the need for renewable energy and create efficient energy models to lower the planet’s carbon footprint and stabilize the grid. \n\nSpeaking from TSC\n\nCarole Mars\,\nDirector\, Innovation and Technical Development
