SUMMARY:Sustainability Reporting Support: Streamlining Agricultural Data Gathering and Sharing
DESCRIPTION:Description\nJoin TSC for a deeper dive on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for food and beverage products.  TSC staff will walk through examples of KPIs common to many agriculture-based products and demonstrate new tools that can help automatically calculate farm-level data for reporting to TSC KPIs.  \nPresenters\nAmanda Raster\, Manager Technical Development for Food\, Beverage\, and Agriculture \nParticipants\nSustainability Index Walmart Suppliers  \nConsumer Goods Product Suppliers \nWebinar Times a Dates\n\n\n  \n\n\nAbout The Series \nAt TSC\, we know it can be a challenge to report sustainability data for your products or brands. We also know that sustainability reporting can provide vital business insights for both you and your retail customers. In order to help suppliers responding to the Sustainability Index for Walmart and other retail customers\, TSC has put together a series of webinars full of tips\, tricks\, and insights. This series will help you learn to efficiently collect the data you need\, accurately report to your customers\, and turn the results into valuable insights for your own company. \nThe SAP Product Stewardship Network \nSAP Product Stewardship Network (PSN) is an online tool that enables retailers to exchange sustainability data efficiently and confidentially.  Within the PSN cloud system\, retailers send their suppliers category specific surveys about how they are sourcing ethically and sustainably.  Supplier responses are recorded and communicated through the same system.  A benefit to suppliers is the immediate report on responses and\, if 5 or more suppliers have completed the same questionnaire\, an anonymized chart displaying how rankings among suppliers is included.  \n About The Sustainability Consortium \nThe Sustainability Consortium (TSC) uses the best sustainability science to help companies make the everyday products we use better and more sustainable. The products and services of TSC reflect their academic and collaborative values: science-based\, stakeholder-informed\, and focused on impact. TSC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) not only help improve the sustainability of the products we use every day\, but also drive efficiency by letting suppliers answer a unified set of measurement questions for different retail customers. TSC has many resources available for suppliers needing help and/or tools related to answering KPIs and is offering multiple levels of educational webinars leading up to the 2018 Index.  \n

SUMMARY:IT Ecosystem Webinar Series: EcoVadis
DESCRIPTION:Tier 1 suppliers often struggle to answer retailer-facing KPIs that relate to upstream hotspots because it can be difficult to get the right data\, in the right format\, at the right time. To address this challenge\, TSC has begun dis-aggregating select KPIs into underlying data elements to enable improved upstream data collection and downstream data flow. \nIn conjunction with this effort\, TSC kicked off an IT Ecosystem project earlier in the year with a set of software providers that support multi-tier reporting between companies in the consumer goods value chain. The objective of this project is to improve supply chain connectivity and transparency through a “chain of custody” data model. This data model will allow useful\, actionable\, and consistent sustainability information to more easily reach key decision-makers along the value chain\, driving more informed decisions and engagement with suppliers and customers. \nTSC will be hosting a webinar series with each of the IT platforms participating in the IT Ecosystem project to share progress updates on their pilots: Ecovadis\, SupplyShift\, and UL. TSC members – Keep an eye out for the upcoming webinar invitations! Others can contact Rachael Schaffner for more information. \n  \nWebinar Information\n\n  \nContact\nFor information on joining the webinar series please contact Rachael Schaffner.

SUMMARY:Sustainable Foods Summit
DESCRIPTION:Taking place in San Francisco on 30-31st January\, the eighth North American edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit will showcase health impacts\, sustainable ingredients\, and eco-labels. For the first time\, the executive summit will discuss the future of health foods and eco-labelled products in a high-level forum. \nAlthough organic & eco-labelled products now comprise over 5 percent of food sales in North America\, there are concerns about the future outlook. Will the ‘mainstreaming’ of the organic food market continue? What other eco-labels are emerging? Is more label fragmentation or some degree of harmonization on the horizon? What disruption is being created by Amazon and other new entrants? \n Agenda: \nDay One: 30th January 2018 \nSustainability developments\, Food ingredients for sustainability \nDay Two: 31st January 2018 \nHealth Impacts\, Organic & Eco-labels Outlook \n  \nMore info on:     http://www.sustainablefoodssummit.com/namerica/ \nEmail:                    info@sustainablefoodssummit.com \nTel:                          (44) 20 8567 0788 \n

SUMMARY:Achieve Your Sustainability Targets: Deforestation
DESCRIPTION:Main Presenter: EDF and Pecuaria Sustentavel da Amazonia (Pecsa)\nPanelists: Arcos Dorados\, HSBC Bank \nAn emerging opportunity in reducing deforestation is in engaging jurisdictions across an entire landscape. Rather than going farm-by-farm to ensure sustainability—which is likely to lead to islands of “green” in a sea of deforestation—a jurisdictional approach allows companies to work with governments and NGOs to create entire regions that are improving along deforestation and productivity metrics. Join Environmental Defense Fund and their partner Pecuaria Sustentavel da Amazonia (Pecsa)\, a for-profit cattle ranching management and partnership firm\, to learn how to take a more holistic approach to tackle deforestation. \n\nSeries Schedule\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nWebinars cannot be purchased separately. \n\nEvent Contact\nFor questions or comments please contact Jessica Ginger at jessica.ginger@sustainabilityconsortium.org
