SUMMARY:Setting\, Measuring\, and Reporting Crop Specific Sustainability Goals
DESCRIPTION:New opportunities are emerging to leverage crop-specific sustainability programs and associated goals to address the growing consumer preference for sustainably-produced food ingredients. This webinar will provide examples of approaches to setting\, measuring\, and reporting crop-specific sustainability goals . Each of the organizations and example crops featured operate in different contexts – both environmental and regulatory – and yet the approaches to setting goals and measuring progress overlap in meaningful ways.\n\nDiscussion topics include strategies to engage growers in upstream data collection; approaches to quantitatively measure sustainability goals; and partnerships in supporting goal implementation and collaboration with buyers to identify needs and create the right supply chain incentives. Participants will comment on future opportunities to link crop-specific sustainability goals to procurement needs to foster conditions for win-win outcomes for both growers and end-consumers.\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n  \nEric Harris\, SureHarvest\nJennifer Bowe\, OceanSpray\nGabriele Ludwig\, Almond Board of California\nLydia Holmes\, USA Rice\n  \nSeries Times and Dates\n\nWebinars will be hosted on Tuesday and Thursday of the second full workweek of each month. SUMMARY:FREE WEBINAR January 21 | Advancing Circular Economies in Electronics – The Battery Challenge
DESCRIPTION:FREE Webinar Registration: CLICK HERE \nPresenter: Carole Mars\, PhD\, Director\, Innovation and Technical Development\, The Sustainability Consortium (TSC)\, Arizona State University \nCreating a true circular economy for electronic equipment relies on the ability to reuse or recycle all components in a given product. Batteries are a key component in and a key barrier to creating circularity in electronics. This issue is relevant not only for the traditional consumer electronics industry\, but all industries that rely on power storage. In this webinar\, we will look at why batteries of all sizes present a significant challenge to circularity and some of the efforts underway to mitigate their impact. \n \nDr. Carole Mars is Director\, Technical Development and Innovation for The Sustainability Consortium. She is responsible for The Sustainability Insight System (THESIS) Key Performance Indicators for manufactured goods supply chains and leading further research into their sustainability. \nDr. Mars founded the Circular Innovation Hub at the Consortium to coordinate and expand work in the TSC Innovation project portfolio focused on how to create a socially and environmentally responsible circular economy. Her research is focused on the consumer electronics and battery industries\, with an emphasis on product fate and end-of-life management. She also serves as the Technical Advisor to the Responsible Battery Coalition. \nPrior to joining the Consortium\, Dr. Mars worked as a process engineer in the semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry. Dr. Mars earned her Ph.D. at Pennsylvania State University\, in surface analytical chemistry and her bachelor of science in chemistry at the University of Arizona. \nFREE Webinar Registration: CLICK HERE

SUMMARY:New tools: achieving consumer product sustainability at scale
DESCRIPTION:Consumers have made it clear that they prefer to buy from brands who care for people and planet. And in the eyes of consumers\, regulators\, and investors\, those standards now extend to the suppliers with which those companies do business. \nBut for businesses to meet those demands\, they must first navigate the complex landscape of assessments and solutions promising to make all their sustainability problems go away. How does a business know where to start? How do retailers\, brands\, and suppliers seamlessly exchange information to move the sustainability conversation forward? How can they get everything into one place so that the value of sustainability data can be tapped throughout the supply chain and within each business individually? \nThe Sustainability Consortium (TSC) and SupplyShift have entered into a new partnership to help address these questions. Join Supply Shift COO and Co-founder Jamie Barsimantov and TSC Director of Implementation Jessica Ginger to learn about: \n\nThe role industry standardization can play in advancing supply chain sustainability.\nHow retailers\, brands\, and suppliers can work together to achieve consumer product sustainability at scale.\n\nSpeaker\n\n\nJessica Ginger\nDirector of Implementation\nThe Sustainability Consortium \n

SUMMARY:Growing Up: How Focusing on Soil Health Can Improve Sustainability Performance Across an Entire Growing Operation

In this webinar\, we will learn from soil health experts how the implementation of practices to promote soil health can also contribute to improved sustainability outcomes for nutrient management\, greenhouse gas emissions\, and water use at the farm level. We will also explore how collective action in agricultural supply chains helps to ensure positive results for farmers\, food companies\, retailers\, and consumers alike. \n\n\n\nSeries Times and Dates\n\n\nAbout the Achieving Your Sustainability Targets Webinar Series\nThe series will provide you with practical advice for how to make progress in a variety of areas including: Energy\, Deforestation\, Packaging\, Product Use\, Waste\, and Agriculture.
