SUMMARY:TSC Idea Forum Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Location provided by The Nature Conservancy \nOpen to TSC Tier 1 and Retail Members\nEver wish you just had time to think? \nAs professionals\, we are so busy getting things done that we often forget to take time to think and create.  Improving sustainability takes creative thinking\, the sharing of ideas\, and the building of partnerships. This is what TSC would like to provide for its Tier 1 and retail members\, a space to do just that – think\, create\, share\, and collaborate. To do this\, we’ve chosen a beautiful location in the heart of the Ozark Mountains to help inspire relaxation and creative thinking. The objectives of the retreat are to identify areas of opportunity where TSC can take action on sustainability hotspots; create opportunities to share best practices among TSC leaders; and to identify ways to build additional value for TSC’s Tier 1 and retail members. \nActivities\nYou are leaders in sustainability and this retreat is for you to come together to identify collaborative solutions to some of sustainability’s toughest challenges because these challenges can’t be overcome alone. You are invited to take part in this interactive\, participant driven\, refreshing experience where ideas for how to solve these challenges can become reality. During this 3-day retreat\, we will take time to think\, listen\, share\, and explore. There will be opportunities to share experiences around the fire\, network along the nature trails\, explore collaborations over coffee\, and build relationships while stargazing\, doing yoga\, or problem solving on the patio. \n\n\nLodging\n \n\nSpace is limited for this first ever TSC opportunity. Sign up today to hold your space. \nThe Kings River Deck House\, a property of The Nature Conservancy\, is located just outside of scenic Eureka Springs\, Arkansas on hundreds of acres of conservation land. The main lodge and its bungalows have 10 rooms that sleep 20 people. We invite you to take a risk and get to know your colleagues even better by being willing to share a room during your stay at the Kings River Deck House. If you are interested in sharing a room\, please indicate this by choosing the “stay at the lodge for free” option when you register. If you would prefer to book a hotel room in nearby Eureka Springs\, please indicate this by choosing the “hotel” option. \n\n\n\nHotel Recommendations: The Basin Park Hotel; Grand Central Hotel; The Crescent Hotel; Best Western Eureka Inn \n

Based on the voting results\, we will walk through example KPI scenarios as well as calculation tools that have been developed over the past year by TSC to assist in responding.

SUMMARY:Greening Your Freight Moves
DESCRIPTION:EDF+Business is proud to present the Greening the Global Shopping Cart webinar series. \nA webinar with Jason Mathers\, EDF. \nEvery product has a freight journey to from factory to the store shelf. The combined impact of these trips is enormous: retailers spend over $20 billion a year on fuel alone to truck products. Over 300 million tons of carbon pollution are emitted to bring goods to market. Retailers and their suppliers can cut costs and emissions by adopting green freight practices. Join EDF to hear how leaders are leveraging the Five Principles for Greener Freight to create business value; and learn how to launch your own green freight journey.

SUMMARY:Halting Deforestation
DESCRIPTION:EDF+Business is proud to present the Greening the Global Shopping Cart webinar series. \nA webinar with Katie Anderson\, EDF. \nDeforestation is a huge driver of greenhouse gas emissions globally\, with just four commodities—beef\, soy\, palm oil and pulp and paper—accounting for about 1.7 gigatons of emissions each year. Many organizations and companies have set deforestation commitments\, but we are still seeing increases in deforestation. What is causing this discrepancy and how can NGOs\, governments and companies collaborate to see real impact at scale? Katie Anderson\, EDF\, will review the opportunities associated with collective action around jurisdictional approaches for beef and soy in Brazil and give companies a helpful path forward for engagement.
