SUMMARY:GreenBiz 19
DESCRIPTION:Join more than 1\,200 of the world’s brightest thinkers and most influential sustainability leaders for an unparalleled look into the pressing challenges\, emerging trends and biggest opportunities in sustainable business today. \n\n\nTSC Sessions at GreenBiz 19\nGreenBiz Guru Lunch: Improve Your Sustainability Scores Through Best Practices and Action Recommendations\nWednesday\, February 27 | Presenter: Jessica Ginger\, TSC\nBuyers want to help suppliers increase their scores\, and suppliers want to know the next steps to get there. Join a discussion with TSC’s Director of Implementation\, Jessica Ginger\, to learn some best practices on how you or your suppliers can improve your sustainability scores. Jessica will discuss ways to enable more informed decision-making and richer buyer-supplier conversations about potential routes to improvement. If you’re a supplier\, work with suppliers\, or are a part of answering The Sustainability Index\, primarily used by Walmart and Sam’s Club\, then this lunch is for you! \nJoin interactive moderated lunch discussions around a particular topic. Each table discussion will be led by an expert or thought leader\, held at roundtables of up to 10 participants. These are freeform discussions\, so bring your own challenges\, questions\, and ideas to talk through and get to know your fellow conference participants. \n\nThe Successes and Challenges of Creating a Common Tool for the Beauty and Personal Care Industry\nWednesday\, February 27 | Presenter: Chris Cooke\, TSC\nThe Beauty and Personal Care (BPC) Initiative finalized its common approach to evaluating the sustainability of beauty and personal care products in late 2017. Forum for the Future\, along with TSC\, gathered companies from across the beauty and personal care industry to create more sustainable products. As a response to growing consumer and NGO demand\, this group of leading retailers\, manufacturers and NGOs set out to do the impossible: create a common rating system. Hear from TSC and Forum about the rough road it took to get here\, and the successes and challenges for two would-be competitors to combine forces. Hear from participating brands and retailers as to how they will be using BPC Rating System results to facilitate supplier-retailer dialogue\, drive improvements in supply chains\, and independently evaluate and incentivize better\, more sustainable products. \n\nExcuse Me! Do You Know How to Talk to This Buyer?\nWednesday\, February 27 | Presenter: Jessica Ginger\, TSC\nWhat is the key to translating sustainability performance into buyer language? What do buyers want to see and why? What actions can be taken once sustainability performance is systematically and successfully integrated into the buyer-supplier conversation? Join retail buyers and central sustainability leaders as they discuss the needs and challenges in understanding supplier sustainability performance. \n\n
